Membership
Since 1967 the Berlin Area Ambulance Association
has been committed to providing the highest quality ambulance service to all
residents and visitors of our area. We are a nonprofit
organization, that does not receive tax subsidy. Your membership
and donations assist us with the expense of providing pre-hospital care, from
purchasing life saving equipment, to staffing trained medical personnel.
The membership program is applicable to emergency ambulance transportation to
the hospital of your choice. Non-members will be obligated to pay all
payments, co-payments, and deductibles as required by their health insurance
plan. Currently the basic emergency rates start at approximately $500.
 Rates
and Membership Information
Family memberships are $38 per
year for husband, wife, and unmarried children under 21 years of age.
Individual memberships are $28. Mentally retarded and physically
handicapped children, regardless of age, are included in a family
membership. New residents to the community may join upon moving to the
service area and be eligible for immediate coverage. Membership is due
August 31, 2006. After that date, membership will have a 30-day waiting
period before they are considered active (this does not apply to new residents
of our service area). Berlin Area Ambulance Association holds reciprocal
agreements with all neighboring services. This means that if you are in an
area covered by another service and need emergency ambulance service, your
membership will be honored and you will be transported to the hospital under our
rules of membership.
Obtaining
Membership Applications
Memberships are mailed to most
residents of Berlin and the surrounding areas. If you did not receive an
application in the mail and are interested in joining, please contact the
station by calling the non-emergency number at (814)-267-4112 or emailing us at
station500@berlinems.org. Membership applications may also be placed in
various local businesses for distribution while supplies last.
Non-Emergency
Transports
Memberships are valid for
emergency ambulance transportation. Special rates apply for non-emergency
transports. Please contact our non-emergency number at (814)-267-4112 for
rate information. Security Blue insurance subscribers call Transcare for
non-emergency transports at

Donations
Berlin Area Ambulance is a
nonprofit organization, without tax dollars for support. YOU ARE THE VITAL
