Volunteers Participate in Prom Promise Demonstration
On
Thursday, May 3, 2007, members of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department and
Berlin Area Ambulance participated in a mock disaster as part of the Prom
Promise 2007 program for the Berlin Brothers Valley High School. Both
agencies were contacted by members of the school's SADD organization to help
with a demonstration to show students the consequences of drunk driving.
The mock accident was handled just as a real incident, including dispatch
through county 911, emergency response, patient care, and extrication from the
vehicles. Five students from the school volunteered to be the victims of
the accident and helped with the drill.
